Oncology Frontier： You have moderated several sessions here at ASCO 2018. Were there any of those presentations you were particularly interested in that you can share some comments about?

Dr Schilsky：We have had many interesting studies at the meeting this year. Two， in particular， really stand out to me.

One was the presentation of the TAILORx results in women with breast cancer.

This was a study of women with early stage hormone receptor-positive， node-negative breast cancer who already have a favorable prognosis.

The study was determining whether a genomic test could identify women at a sufficiently low enough risk of recurrence that they could safely omit chemotherapy.

The study demonstrated exactly that and showed that for a significant fraction of women with early stage breast cancer， who up until now would have been considered to get adjuvant chemotherapy as part of their treatment， can now not be exposed to the cost and side effects of adjuvant chemotherapy and still expect to have very good outcomes.
该研究结果证实，部分（RS中低危）患者无需接受辅助化疗，以减少治疗费用和毒副作用等，同样可以获得良好转归。
That is a very important piece of news for women with breast cancer.

The other study I would highlight is an important study of patients with pancreatic cancer.
另一项我想重点介绍的研究是关于胰腺癌辅助化疗的重要研究。
This is one of the most difficult cancers to treat，
胰腺癌作为最难治疗的癌症之一，以往研究表明化疗是转移性晚期胰腺癌的标准辅助治疗，
and the study showed that a chemotherapy regimen that has been used as standard of care for treating metastatic or advanced pancreatic cancer now used in the adjuvant setting immediately after removal of a tumor， can extend survival of patients with pancreatic cancer by about 20 months.
该研究则表明，在肿瘤切除后立即辅助化疗，可以延长患者的生存期达20个月。
These patients can now expect to live， on average， more than four years after surgery for their pancreatic cancer.
这些患者在胰腺癌术后的平均存活期可超过4年。
That is really a major advance in a really difficult disease.
这确实是一项难治性疾病中的重大进展。
